NAR logoThe National Association of Realtors is reporting that existing home sales dropped 2.4% in June, 2026 to a seasonally-adjusted annual rate of 4.09 million. Total housing inventory at the end of June was 1.56 million units, down 0.6% from May and up 1.3% from one year ago. Unsold inventory sits at a 4.6-month supply at the current sales rate. The median existing-home price for all housing types in June was $440,600 – the 36th consecutive month of year-over-year price increases.

“The back-and-forth in monthly home sales activity, driven by mild fluctuations in mortgage rates, shows how sensitive home buyers are to affordability conditions…However, job gains – more than half a million since the beginning of the year – will continue to provide support for the housing market.” Said the NAR’s Chief Economist, Lawrence Yun.
