Gilbane Employees Give Back to New England Communities During Construction Inclusion & Community Impact Week

Volunteer efforts support local nonprofits, address student needs and promote inclusion on construction jobsites.
BOSTON–Gilbane’s Massachusetts team marked Construction Inclusion & Community Impact Week with a series of volunteer activities and charitable initiatives benefiting organizations and communities throughout New England.
Employees supported several nonprofit and community organizations, including Rosie’s Place, Cradles to Crayons, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Manchester, New Hampshire, and Salem State University’s Feed a Viking Market. Activities included assembling care packages, collecting essential donations and participating in workplace discussions focused on building inclusive and welcoming environments.
In Manchester, Gilbane team members donated hygiene kits to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul to assist unhoused individuals being discharged from HCA Catholic Medical Center, where Gilbane is currently working. The kits contain essential personal care items intended to help individuals meet immediate needs as they transition from the hospital back into the community.
Gilbane employees also focused their efforts on supporting students at Salem State University, where the company is involved in the Decarbonization and BOLD projects.
Through the university’s Feed a Viking Market, employees collected donations and purchased food and toiletries from the campus market’s wish list. The initiative helps provide students with access to essential items and additional resources.
The team also contributed clothing to Salem State’s Career Closet, which offers students new and gently used professional attire. The program helps prepare students for important career milestones, including internships, job interviews and entering the workforce.
Additional volunteer efforts supported Rosie’s Place and Cradles to Crayons, two organizations dedicated to serving individuals and families in need.
Beyond charitable donations and hands-on service, Gilbane project teams incorporated the week’s themes into their daily work through jobsite Toolbox Talks. These discussions addressed the importance of caring, inclusion and respect, emphasizing the role everyone plays in creating welcoming environments both on construction sites and in the surrounding communities.
Construction Inclusion & Community Impact Week provided an opportunity for employees to connect their professional work with community service, highlighting how construction companies and their teams can contribute beyond the projects they build.
