Mattamy Homes will transition leadership of its U.S. business, with Chief Executive Officer Keith Bass set to retire and Chief Operating Officer Chris Lindhorst stepping into the CEO role, the builder announced Thursday.
Bass, the CEO of Mattamy Homes U.S. since 2020, will retire effective Sept. 1, 2026, according to the company’s announcement. Lindhorst, who joined Mattamy as U.S. COO in February 2026, will succeed him as CEO of the U.S. operations.
During Bass’s six-year tenure, Mattamy’s U.S. segment posted record revenues, earnings and community counts while navigating pandemic-era demand swings, rapid rate hikes and shifting affordability, the company said.
Mattamy Homes, based in Toronto, maintains a U.S. corporate headquarters in Florida. Tampa-based. The business competes in some of the most active homebuilding markets in the U.S., where public and private builders have relied heavily on incentives and rate buydowns to keep new-home sales moving.
“Keith has been an exceptional leader for Mattamy Homes U.S. during an important chapter in our company’s history,” Larry Nicholson, vice chair of Mattamy Homes, said in the release, crediting Bass with strengthening and expanding the U.S. platform during “extraordinary market conditions and industry change.”
Lindhorst brings more than 20 years of homebuilding leadership experience to the CEO role. Before joining Mattamy, he spent more than 16 years at D.R. Horton, the nation’s largest homebuilder in the HousingWire Homebuilder Rankings. Lindhorst served in senior leadership positions, most recently as regional president overseeing operations that delivered more than 13,000 home closings annually across 11 markets in Texas, Arizona and New Mexico.
Nicholson called Lindhorst “a proven leader with deep operational expertise and an impressive track record of delivering results at scale,” noting that he has quickly integrated into Mattamy’s senior team since arriving earlier this year.
As U.S. CEO, Lindhorst will oversee all aspects of Mattamy’s American operations and advance the company’s long-term growth strategy.
“It is an honor to have the opportunity to lead Mattamy Homes U.S.,” Lindhorst said in the announcement, adding that he plans to build on the existing platform and focus on execution and long-term value creation.
