Former Rocket Pro general manager Dan Sogorka has been named CEO of Informed, an AI-driven verification and fraud detection platform for lenders. He’s stepping down as CEO of broker platform Origna8 after a few months in the position.
San Mateo, California-based Informed uses AI to help lenders verify applications, detect fraud and accelerate funding. The company says it has automated more than $350 billion in loan originations to date, primarily in auto lending, and processes more than 5 million applications annually.
“Informed has built something rare: a data advantage lenders genuinely trust to fight fraud,” Sogorka said in a statement. “With more than 2 billion data points behind the platform, we can catch what others miss, and it’s the foundation we’ll build on as we bring that same trust to new markets.”
The company’s platform is used by eight of the top 10 U.S. auto lenders and is powered by what it calls a Fraud Data Network containing more than 100 million documents.
The company’s board and leadership team framed Sogorka’s hiring as preparation for its next chapter, as Informed looks to expand beyond auto into adjacent verticals such as consumer lending and mortgage credit. The firm said its strategy, product road map and customer commitments remain unchanged.
Sogorka is a 20-year industry veteran whose background is heavily weighted toward mortgage technology. He previously held senior roles at Black Knight (now part of Intercontinental Exchange), ServiceLink and Sagent, giving him experience across servicing, originations and wholesale lending.
After leaving Rocket Pro in January, he joined former colleague Mike Fawaz in launching Origna8, a broker platform with United Wholesale Mortgage as a lender partner.
Sogorka served as CEO as the startup began rolling out technology, marketing, recruiting, leads and lender partnerships for independent mortgage brokers. As a board member and adviser, Sogorka will keep strategic ties to the broker-focused venture Fawaz is building.
“I will no longer be CEO at O8, but I will remain on the board and an adviser,” Sogorka told HousingWire. Fawaz added that the company “hasn’t selected anyone for [the CEO role] yet.”
