Michael Haack has joined the board of Champion Homes Inc. as an independent director, the company announced, bringing the manufactured housing builder’s board to seven members, six of whom are independent.

Haack’s appointment was effective Aug. 24, 2026. He will serve on the board’s compensation committee, according to the company announcement.

Haack currently serves as president and CEO of Dallas-based Eagle Materials Inc., where he is also a director. Eagle Materials is a U.S. manufacturer of heavy construction products and light building materials, including Portland cement and gypsum wallboard used in residential, commercial and infrastructure projects nationwide.

During his tenure at Eagle, Haack has led more than $1.6 billion in acquisitions, the company said. That M&A background and exposure to core building materials markets offer additional insight for a manufactured housing company navigating input costs, supply chain volatility and capital allocation decisions.

“Michael brings deep experience leading complex industrial organizations – a perspective that inevitably will be beneficial to our board,” Michael Berman, chair of the Champion Homes board of directors, said in the announcement.

Before joining Eagle Materials, Haack spent more than 17 years at Halliburton in senior manufacturing, operational and global leadership roles. His positions there included work across manufacturing, supply chain, quality, reliability, regional operations and global strategy. As global operations manager for Sperry Drilling, he led more than 8,000 employees across major oil and gas markets.

Haack said he sees Champion Homes as operating at the intersection of manufacturing and innovation while addressing an important segment of housing demand.

“I am honored to join the Champion Homes board and look forward to working with my fellow directors and the management team,” Haack said. “Champion Homes operates at the intersection of manufacturing and innovation and serves an important housing need.”

Haack has served as Eagle’s president and CEO since 2019, helping guide the company through a strategic and operational overhaul, including technology investments and a shift from a decentralized plant structure to a more integrated network. Champion Homes, which relies on a multi-plant manufacturing footprint to produce HUD-code manufactured homes and modular units, has been focused on plant efficiency, throughput and margins amid ongoing affordability challenges.

Haack also serves on the board of Terra CO2 and has previously served on the board of 2Source Manufacturing Inc. He is additionally involved with advisory organizations connected to MIT and Texas A&M University.

He holds an MBA from Rice University, a master’s degree in industrial engineering from Texas A&M University and a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Purdue University.
