Flipping Activity Continues to Drop While Profits Continue to Rise

The latest U.S. Home Flipping Report from ATTOM reveals that in Q3, 2023, a total of 72,543 single-family houses and condominiums were flipped, accounting for 7.2% of all home sales during that period. ATTOM also reports that investor returns have been increasing for the past three quarters, with margins and raw profits reaching their highest levels since the middle of the previous year. According to Rob Barber, CEO for ATTOM, this recovery in the home-flipping industry appears to be more than just a temporary break and is heading in the right direction, despite investment returns still being lower than a few years ago.
