BOSTON — Maplewood Senior Living is partnering with technology company Infinityy to introduce an artificial intelligence-powered platform across its portfolio, aiming to make it easier for older adults and their families to research and evaluate senior living options before visiting a community in person.

The partnership, announced Oct. 14, will begin at Inspīr Embassy Row in Washington, D.C., and Inspīr Carnegie Hill on Manhattan’s Upper East Side before expanding across Maplewood’s communities in the Northeast and Ohio.

Infinityy describes its platform as a decision-making tool for places and spaces. In senior living, it is designed to bring together information about residences, care services, amenities and surrounding neighborhoods while allowing prospective residents and family members to explore options collaboratively, even when they are in different locations.

The technology reflects a broader effort by senior living operators to make the often complex process of choosing a residence more accessible and personalized. Families evaluating senior living communities typically consider more than apartments and amenities. They may also weigh care needs, access to health services, neighborhood walkability, dining options, cultural activities and proximity to relatives.

Maplewood said the partnership will extend its hospitality-oriented approach to luxury senior living into the initial research and decision-making process, before prospective residents arrive for an in-person tour.

“Families come to us during one of the most important decisions of their lives, and that experience begins long before they walk through our doors,” said Jenna Anderson, vice president of sales and marketing at Maplewood Senior Living.

She said Infinityy allows families to explore communities together, obtain answers to questions and connect with the company’s sales team when they are ready. The platform also integrates with Maplewood’s existing Align customer relationship management system, giving sales staff additional context about prospective residents’ interests and interactions.

Virtual exploration and personalized information

Infinityy’s platform allows prospective residents to explore residences, common areas and amenities independently or invite family members and Maplewood sales professionals to participate in the same experience in real time.

An artificial intelligence assistant answers questions around the clock in more than 70 languages. The platform itself can be translated into 13 languages, according to the companies.

The technology also incorporates neighborhood information from Local Logic and Google Street View, enabling families to explore nearby health-care facilities, restaurants, parks, walking routes and cultural destinations.

Users who want personal assistance can connect directly with a Maplewood sales professional.

The companies say the combination of digital exploration and human interaction is intended to help families arrive at in-person visits with a clearer understanding of a community and a better-defined set of priorities.

The integration with Align CRM is another component of the arrangement. By linking digital engagement with Maplewood’s existing sales workflows, the platform is designed to help sales teams understand which features and services have attracted a prospect’s attention and tailor subsequent conversations accordingly.

A technology push in luxury senior living

The initial rollout will take place at two of Maplewood’s high-end Inspīr residences.

Inspīr Carnegie Hill is a 23-story senior living residence on Manhattan’s Upper East Side with more than 50,000 square feet of amenity space. Its facilities include two fine-dining venues, a heated saltwater swimming pool and an open-air SkyPark.

Inspīr Embassy Row in Washington, D.C., combines luxury residential accommodations with hospitality services and personalized care.

Maplewood has positioned the Inspīr brand around holistic wellness, resident enrichment and design intended to support older adults’ quality of life. The partnership with Infinityy extends that approach to the period when residents and families are first researching potential communities.

For Infinityy, the agreement represents an expansion into senior living, a sector in which decisions frequently involve several people and can require extensive research. Adult children may be comparing communities for parents while living in other cities, for example, and relatives may need to coordinate questions about care, costs, location and lifestyle.

“Senior living is one of the clearest examples of why the decision-making layer for places and spaces matters,” said Lisa Nickerson, chief executive officer of Infinityy.

“These are deeply personal decisions, often involving several family members in different cities, countries and time zones,” Nickerson said. She added that the technology is intended to provide information and context while maintaining connections with people who can help families make decisions.

Expansion across the portfolio

The Washington and New York launches are the first stages of a broader deployment. The companies plan to extend Infinityy’s platform across Maplewood’s full portfolio of communities in the Northeast and Ohio.

The rollout comes as senior living operators look for ways to make the research and sales process more responsive to prospective residents and their families. Digital tools can provide information outside conventional business hours and help families coordinate their evaluations, while in-person visits remain important for assessing the atmosphere, services and personal interactions that shape the resident experience.

The companies have not disclosed financial terms of the partnership or a timetable for deploying the platform at each additional community.

For Maplewood, the initiative is intended to connect the digital research process with the personalized service offered at its residences. For Infinityy, senior living provides a new market for a platform designed to help people navigate complex decisions about physical spaces.

The initial launches at Inspīr Embassy Row and Inspīr Carnegie Hill will serve as the starting point for the planned portfolio-wide expansion.
