Inflation has increased by 2.9% compared to the previous year.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has recently released a report stating that the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) saw a 0.2% increase in July 2024. Over the past 12 months leading up to July, the index has risen by 2.9%. One significant contributor to this increase was the 0.4% rise in the shelter index in July, marking the sixth consecutive month of increases and accounting for nearly 90% of the overall monthly increase in the all items index.
