I live in the Miami area. $1 million doesn't buy a decent house in a decent area here. And if you move in from out of state, be prepared to pay 1.8% annually of the house for property taxes and maybe $10K – $15K for hurricane insurance, if you can get it. Welcome to Florida!!
Don’t!!
No sane person is moving to liberal areas after the insanity of democrats just letting crime and homelessness spiral out of control.
Because sane people are trying to get out of the south. I live in SC and will be moving to NYC, Boston or Philly in the next couple of years, when I retire.
Thank you!
Just moved back from FL myself…One thing you didn’t mention, in most metro areas you’re going to be almost forced into living in an HOA community, and most have CDD fees which make the property tax comparison a lot closer (maybe even a wash). And don’t get me started on HOAs…
I was thinking about going the other way, from Mass to Florida. Then Florida passed the discriminatory law forbidding Chinese nationals from buying, reminiscent of the Chinese Exclusion Act. It doesn't affect me but Florida turned me off. I ain't buying there.
EXCELLENT review that I’m looking forward to, thank you!😂
