Housing Starts Up in 4.9% in October
The U.S. government is reporting that privately‐owned housing starts in October were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1,530,000, which is 4.9% above September’s revised number. October’s rate for units in buildings with five units or more was 334k. Privately‐owned housing units authorized by building permits in October were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1,545,000, which was virtually the same as September’s revised number. Authorizations of units in buildings with five units or more were at a rate of 365k in October.
