Historic office building in downtown Portsmouth changes ownership

Historic Downtown Portsmouth Office Building Sells

Chinburg Development LLC has acquired 40 Pleasant Street in Portsmouth, NH from Allison Street Holdings, LLC. The 24,237± SF building was sold for $5,450,000 in a deal arranged by Kent White and Caitlin Burke of The Boulos Company. The seller had enlisted Boulos in 2023 to lease the second and third floors of the building. Within six months, Boulos successfully leased out 100% of the building. After the seller made necessary modern updates while preserving original details, 40 Pleasant Street was put up for sale.

Built in 1860, the building garnered attention for its unique characteristics including high ceilings, curved brick, and large windows. Despite being listed during a time of high interest rates, the Boulos team managed to find a buyer who could secure financing and achieve a sale price likely to be the highest in downtown Portsmouth this year. You can read more about the sale in the article “Historic Downtown Portsmouth Office Building Sells” on the Boston Real Estate Times website.
